BakerPrice · know what your time earns
Cookie & biscuit pricing calculator
Turn a customer’s budget into a clear decision. Include whole batches, your own working time and a profit target, then see a quote you can explain.
Start with the illustrative example or replace every cost with your own. This tool does not save inputs or send them to a server. Enter every cost in the same currency. Currency changes the label only; it does not convert prices. The starting costs are illustrative, not UK market prices.

Batch breakdown & what-if scenarios
What if costs change?
These scenarios change one assumption at a time. A passing result covers only the entered costs, owner-pay target, profit target and active-hour limit, not tax, food regulations, oven capacity or a delivery promise.

How cookie pricing works
Price needs to cover more than ingredients. This calculator first finds the number of whole batches needed, adds order costs, pays your target rate for active work, then calculates the price required for profit left over.
Minimum quote = (non-owner costs + target owner pay + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − processing fee rate).
Target-margin quote = (non-owner costs + target owner pay + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − processing fee rate − desired profit margin).
Quotes round upward to the next cent or penny. Calculations retain full precision before that step. Margin means profit as a share of revenue; it is different from markup on costs.
A worked example
For 24 cookies with £30 in non-owner costs, 3 active hours at £20/hour, a 3% fee plus £0.30 and a 20% residual margin, a £90 budget leaves £19 per owner hour before profit. After paying the target £60 for your time, the order loses £3. The minimum quote is £93.10 and the target-margin quote is £117.28.
Why are owner pay and profit separate?
Your compensation pays for your work. Residual profit is what remains after that compensation and entered expenses. A positive cash balance can still leave you earning less than your target hourly rate.
Why did one extra cookie make the quote jump?
If a batch yields 24 sellable cookies, an order for 25 requires two whole batches here. Both batches’ ingredients and active time are included. The calculator makes no assumption that you can sell the leftovers.
Does a green result guarantee the order is profitable?
No. It means the entered assumptions meet the selected targets. Missing costs, longer work, refunds, spoilage or scheduling limits can change the result. The stress scenarios show two examples of that uncertainty.
Can UK home bakers use this calculator?
Yes. GBP is the starting currency. Enter all prices in one selected currency. Currency labels do not perform exchange conversions. Tax and regional selling requirements are not calculated.
